About Crete
Crete is the biggest Greek island and effectively a country in beach terms — a south coast that catches the African sun, a north coast that catches the meltemi, and four wildly different mountain ranges between them. The famous beaches (Elafonissi, Balos, Preveli) are on the west; the east holds quieter, less photographed stretches that we rate just as highly.
