About Dalmatia
Dalmatia runs roughly from Zadar to the Montenegrin border and contains most of Croatia's headline coastline — pine-shaded coves, walled cities, white pebble bays. The Dalmatian sea is unusually clear because the rivers are short and the limestone catches sediment before it reaches the coast. Beach access is almost always pebble or rock; sand is rare and usually engineered.
