About bnsmag
A field guide to the world's beaches.
We review beaches the way readers actually want them reviewed: water, sand, atmosphere, access, what to know before you go. No press trips. No comp rooms. No editorial shortcuts.

bnsmag is an independent travel site built around a single, stubborn idea: the best beach review is the one written by someone who has actually been there. Every review on this site comes from a real visit, on our own dime, with the same five things measured every time: water, sand, atmosphere, access, facilities.
We also publish travel guides, itineraries and dispatches: the slower kind of travel writing, the kind that tells you when to go, what to skip, and why a place is worth the journey.
What we cover
Beaches, coastlines, islands, and the wider world where land meets sea. The Mediterranean, the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean, the Pacific, the strange quiet North Atlantic. If there is a shoreline worth knowing about, we want to write about it.
What we don't
Resorts. All-inclusives. Anywhere you need to fly business class to enjoy. Anywhere with a velvet rope. Top-ten lists generated to game search engines. Sponsored copy disguised as editorial.
How we make money
bnsmag is reader-supported and ad-supported. The site carries display advertising served by Google AdSense, Google Ad Manager and Mediavine. Some links may be affiliated; where a link is affiliated, it is clearly marked. Advertising pays the writers. Advertising does not decide what we cover. Read the editorial standards if you want the details.
How to reach us
One inbox for everything: hello@bnsmag.com. For corrections, put "Correction" in the subject line. For press, "Press." We read every message ourselves.
