Beaches in Philippines
1 on-the-ground review from across Palawan of Philippines.
About the coast
The Philippines has more reviewable coastline than any country we cover — 7,641 islands and an internationally famous reputation for white sand and reefs. Most foreign visitors funnel into Boracay, Palawan and Cebu; the country has dozens more that hold up. We rate beaches here in the dry season window only (November to May). Outside that, sea conditions are unpredictable and a lot of access roads close.
The country runs Tagalog as its working language but English is universal in tourist areas. Domestic flights connect almost every island chain to Manila or Cebu; ferries fill in the gaps. Budget at least one full travel day between the major beach regions — distances on a map are deceptive.
